What is CrossFit?

To the media . . . and quite possibly some of your friends, it is an ‘extreme', ’underground', 'hardcore', 'crazy' and 'intensive’ workout.

To the CrossFit community . . . it is a strength and conditioning program that is made up of constantly varied functional movements performed at relative high intensity; that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. It is scalable for any individual at any age or any level of fitness.  

And to us at CrossFit Hammersmith. . . to us it is a way of exercising, learning new skills, and having fun with a group of likeminded people, gaining new friends and is potentially lifestyle changing... for the better.  All of this in a supportive, fun and welcoming environment.  The quote by CrossFit veteran Pat Sherwood sums it up far better than we could - "The goal is to get fit, make it the best hour of your day, stay safe, turn up the music, high five some people and blow off some steam.  So remember that.  Relax, Have fun. Work out. "
